Your Bio

My name is Charles(Carlos) O'dom and I live in Atlanta,Ga. My wife Gloria and I have made Atlanta our home for the past 40 years . Our children are grown and we now share our home with two dogs and a bird. Gloria and I like to travel to Mexico and Europe as often as our finances allow. it's not uncommon to return home with several hundred digital photo's after one of these trips, I'll comb through and extract dozens of images to use as a starting point for a new painting or sculpture. This Gallery is under construction and will most likely remain in the rough until after my retirement from the RailRoad in 2009, I'll then have an extra ten hours a day to invest as I like. I hope that you will find at least one of my works worthy of your time spent viewing. Please feel free to post a comment, Thanks

VICTORIAS GALLERY : My younger sister passed away more than a decade ago, her earthly life was but a burden for her spiritual journey.  She left little more than memories of herself in her drawings. I gathered up those works that survied her, and made a promise to myself I would share with other's her love of God as expressed in many of her works. there are still many works that need to conserved and posted, My scanner bit the dust and i've orderded a replacement. I hope to scan,repair and post the remainder of Vicki's works soon!

ART PLATES GALLERY #1 : This gallery will attempt to showcase my early efforts to use electric arc welding to impart an image to a steel canvas during the period between 91-93. I'll be adding more in the months to follow. I labored to sketch out 100+. That was the easy part, Now - I'll have to custom build frames to compliment the Art. ART PLATES GALLERY #2 : FROM 91'- 92' I WAS BUSY WELDING IMAGES ONTO STEEL PLATES. I THOUGHT OF THIS AS SKETCHING A LOOSELY DETAILED IMAGE FOR SOME FUTURE PERIOD WHERE I COULD FINISH EACH ONE. I WANTED VERY MUCH TO CAPTURE THE ESSESENCE OF MY VISION ON EACH PLATE OF STEEL. I WASN'T SURE WHEN I WOULD FIND THE TIME TO FINISH MY EFFORTS. FOURTEEN YEARS HAVE PASSED AND I'M VERY BUSY BUILDING FRAMES TO PRESENT EACH AS A FINISHED WORK. IT'S TIRESOME, BUT VERY ENJOYABLE WORK, YOU WILL FIND THAT EACH COMPLETED WORK IS REPRESENTED IN "ART PLATES GALLERY #1". I HAVE A FEELING IT MAY WELL BE ANOTHER TWO YEAR'S BEFORE ALL ARE COMPLETED. ORIENTAL MYSTIC ALTER : A prayer alter for communion with the spirits. approx 33" wide and 27" tall and the bottom has a depth of 3 1/2". The work is constructed of wood, glass, paper and custom resin castings. This is light and readily avails itself to wall hanging.
